The last decade has seen India earning a big name among international audience. From enriching Hollywood to TV series and even with their political presence, Indian celebrities are traversing the field with great enthusiasm. This is not only showcasing Indian talent on a bigger platform, but is also attempting at promoting a sense of global harmony.

Priyanka Chopra with her TV Series Quantico and now with the release of her new show Baywatch; Deepika Padukone with her movie xXx: Return of Xander Cage, opposite the Fast and the Furious fame actor Vin Diesel; and now Sonam Kapoor in line (as she reported in the latest show of Koffee with Karan); we see Indian celebrities exploring and adding to the international culture. Sonam Kapoor also appeared, briefly, in the Cold Play song ‘Hymn for the Weekend’ ft. Beyonce.

We present you three celebrities that adorned the year-beginning by making headlines, internationally:

Priyanka Chopra bags her second People’s Choice award in the Favourite Dramatic TV Actress category. She wins it for her role as CIA agent Alex Parrish in the TV series Quantico. She competed for this trophy with Kerry Washington, Ellen Pompeo Viola Davis, Taraji P Henson and Viola Davis. PC won her first people’s choice award for the same show, in the category Favourite Actress in a New TV Series, in 2016.
